SUPPORTING CHARACTERS
Matthew and Mariaâs trusty German Shepherd who joins them after a crack house rescue. SoBe is a smart, trusted and faithful companion that their enemies do not wish to meet.
Mariaâs protective father who immigrated, albeit escaped feuding families, with Mariaâs mother, Salina, from northern Spain. They open Godelloâs Spanish Restaurant. Heâs a broken man after the loss of his true love, Maria’s mother. Phil and three aunts now live for Maria and the restaurant–and keep a close eye on Matthew.
Matthewâs and Seanâs difficult father is a Korea and Vietnam veteran. Parker took over the family pulp business and runs it like the Marines. He doesnât understand Matthewâs bent toward science and wonders who will take over the family business one day. Parker and his first son, Sean, butt heads yet turn out to have much in common. Sean is DIA. His father was DIA. Matthew’s mentor, Mr. E, is not welcome.
Matthewâs dear mother was born in Marthaâs Vineyard as a Joyce, close to the Kennedyâs. Kate is the fulcrum in the Eaton family. (plot buster warning) A romance seems to simmer with Matthewâs mysterious CIA trained tutor, Mr. E.
CRACKER JACK
Our mysterious storyteller in Miami Beach. Cracker Jack comes into M&Mâs lives in a flash telling a wild story about the future world saving source of energy and how the FBI and all forces of evil are after him and the product. Cracker Jackâs mysterious relationship to M&M unravels through the entire series and drives the plot. Jacksonâs loyal son is raised in the fortress and hidden lab on Lake Michigan. Tremont meets and become best friends with Matthewâs brother, Sean, through whom he learns about Matthew, and like himself and his father, his savant gift for science. Tremont played basketball guard for Bobby Knight U of I. He joins the Marines with his pal Sean as he always had a desire to live up to both of his grandfatherâs military traditions. He eventually realizes that his place is at his fatherâs side and returns to Indiana just in time to accompany his father to D.C. — to present CJ Energy to WCASE World Council on energy â and all hell breaks loose. Posthumous, Tremont and his father remain a factor throughout the series.
âThere is no such thing as a Conspiracy Theory. Itâs either a conspiracy or itâs not, â he says. As a child Matthew thinks of his mentor as 007. As Matthew matures, he perceives that his mentor is just a man replete with faults. (plot buster) Similar to his hero worship of his brother Sean, he is helpless to thwart the wiles of good intentions, those he comes to call his puppeteers. He lets people and circumstances move him toward his destiny. Estebanez cares about duty, honor, and country. But when his close friend, Cameron Jackson, is murdered, he comes to terms with what he loves — the Jackson and the Eaton families. He will direct and protect our heroes if it kills him. Mr. E evolves as a humanâfrom CIA NOC to caretaker and protector. Felix has loved two women anywhere near close to his age, Jackson’s wife, and Matthew’s mother. What a quandary.
ESTEBANEZ
THE MICKMACâS OF MAINE
Chief Tanner of the Aroostook band of the French-Canadian Micmac nation. (Plot Buster) the chief is responsible for Matthew’s vivid dreams that he lives to regret. Chief Tanner’s lineage has unique, mysterious and mystical characteristic twists that are revealed as seasons progress.
Bouchard is the tribe’s medicine man. He’s a scary dude.
Pete Marks is a high school classmate of Sean’s. Pete is Chief Tanner’s grandson and a ranger in Baxter Park; a tragic character and a mystery to M&M.
Kyle Gespasian is Pete’s cousin, and a grandson to Chief Tanner. Kyle is Matthew’s closest pal. Kyle embraces his Micmac roots along with a pack of timber wolves. He helps Matthew deal with the dreams and saves his life a time or two.
The god of Thunder and protector of the mountain bewitchesMatthew and Maria! The Micmac and Penobscot peopledescribe Pamola as having the head of a moose, the body of a man and the wings and feet of an eagle. Pamola was both feared and respected by the Penobscot nation, and his presence led to death and disappearance. Will our heroes be faced with this fate?
